Task 4 LO1 The Global Village theory (1964)

Global village - wrote a book called 'Understanding Media: The Extension of Man' saying there will be advanced in technology, we would be more interconnected with one another and be able to talk to each other digitally. This is turn would being about a tribal mentality, focusing on 'in and out groups' - in a political context this can be seen as discriminatory and having negative connotations. 


Twitterati- someone that goes on Twitter a lot to express their opinion thinking everyone was to hear about it .e.g.  Pierce Morgan 


Positives:

- Easier to communicate 

- Easy to have information 

- Developed lifestyle 

- Increased human efficiency at work

- Know about what is happening in other countries faster 


Negatives:

- Misuse of information 

- Sometimes fake news makes social collision

- Bullies, trolls 

- Developed countries can stifle development of undeveloped and under - developed countries this can led to technological divide (people that have too much power and technology where poorer places can't reach the technology).

UPS- Unique Selling Point - the aspect(s) of a product that makes it standout from competitors  UGC- User Generated Content - the media content made by prosumers in the digital age. Any form of content - posts, images, videos, reviews, etc. - created by consumers on an online or social network.  Folksonomy- basically a system of sharing of ideas across an online community.
