 Long Tail Theory (2004/5) - To describe the way in which new technologies have enabled audiences to have choice over the about of media they can access. Not just mass/ popular, but niche. Web economics - not as popular people can sell their content as well just like the popular people. Pushed recommendations by the web  ( Web 3.0 or the Semantic Web) 

How did the interactive web develop? encourages other people to access more than just mainstream and popular content.
